NIMCET Eligibility Criteria 2020: The conducting body of NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is one of the National Institute of Technology which releases the NIMCET eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for NIMCET 2020 are the minimum academic qualifications required for a candidate to apply for the exam. The basic eligibility criteria of NIMCET require Indian candidates to be graduates in Science/ IT/ CA/ Technology or Engineering, with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA. Only eligible candidates will be able to apply for this national level exam which is the gateway to admission into M.C.A. courses in the 10 participating NITs. The official notification for the exam is expected somewhere in February in the coming year. NIMCET 2020 is expected to be conducted in the last week of May, 2020. NIMCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2020 before online application. If at any stage of the admission process, it is found that the candidate’s eligibility is inadequate or falsely furnished, his or her candidature will be nullified.   • B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects (candidates from open universities are also eligible)

OR

  • B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University

Passing Year

Not later than September 2020


NIMCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria: Key Points

  • For calculating the minimum requirement of marks, conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is prohibited.

  • Candidates in the last year of their Bachelor’s programme are also eligible to apply for NIMCET 2020. However, such candidates must provide their proof of passing latest by September 15, 2020.

  • Students who have completed/ are completing B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided the programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

NIMCET Eligibility Criteria 2020: Documents required before NIMCET Registration


The following set of documents should be kept aside by prospective candidates starting with the registration process:

  • Scanned copy of a recent, coloured, passport size photograph (size between 50 KB- 150 KB)
  • Scanned copy of the signature (in Royal Blue/ Black colour only) (size between 50 KB- 150 KB)
  • All the mark-sheets and certificates (self-attested and scanned) (should not exceed 500 KB each)
  • A valid government-issued identity proof (preferably Aadhaar Card)


NIMCET Application Form 2020

The common NIMCET 2020 application will be released by the conducting authority tentatively in the first week of March, 2020. Eligible candidates seeking admission into M.C.A. course offered by the country’s leading NITs need to submit the completed NIMCET application form 2020 before last date. Candidates must use their personal phone number and e-mail ID to register as a new user and fill the application form of NIMCET 2020. Scanned copies of recent photograph, signature, mark-sheets, etc. will also be required for uploading in the application form. Payment of application fee will be the concluding step of the NIMCET application process. Lastly, candidates are advised to print out at least two copies of the completed application form for future reference.

How can i apply for nimcet exam in 2020.

Dear Kashish,
I would like to tell you that right now the dates of NIMCET 2020 has not been released.
I can share expected/ tentative dates with you.
So, NIMCET 2020 Application form will be released in the first week of March 2020.
While filling up the form there are various steps
Such as
  • Registration,
  • Filling the application form,
  • uploading the documents and
  • application fee payment.

Last date to fill the application form online is till the last week of March 2020.

And you can fill the application form by online mode.
Exam date of NIMCET 2020 might take place in 4th week of May 2020.

I belong to general category and i have 6.4 CGPA in BCA which is equal to 60.8% so as per percentage criteria can i apply for NIMCET 2020

Hey Anshul,
The eligibility criteria for NIMCET is that Candidate must have completed B.sc( Hons)/ BTech/B.sc/B.E/BCA/BIT from a recognised institute with 60% score or 6.5 CGPA for general category.
The candidate must have passed qualifying exam with Mathematics or statistics as subjects.
So you are not eligible for applying.
You CGPA is less then 6.5 which is the minimum eligibility criteria.

The application will begin in March 2020 and exam will be conducted in may 2020.

I have 6.41 CGPA in BCA can i apply for NIMCET 2020

Whether you are eligible for nimcet examination or not with 6.41 cgpa in your bca depends upon the category you belong to, but you haven't mentioned it . If you are from general category dear then I am extremely sorry to tell you but you are not eligible for NIMCET examination but in case if you belong to reserved categories like sc/st then you are eligible as the eligibility criteria for NIMCET 2020 is that a candidate must have passed B.sc/ B.Sc( Hons)/ BIT/BCA with mathematics/statistics as one of the subjects with atleast 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (general category) and 55% or 6.0 CGPA (SC/ST) from a recognised board or university. I would like to tell you that NIMCET 2020 application will be released by the conducting authority tentatively in the first week of March, 2020.

Utkarsh, to be eligible for NIMCET, you should have completed your Graduation in B.Sc, B.Sc(Hons), BCA, BIT, B.E, B.Tech to be eligible for NIMCET. You should have completed Mathematics or Statistics as one of your subjects in your Graduation. NIMCET is an entrance exam for Post Graduation programmes and not after 12th. So if you want to appear for NIMCET in the future, you should study your Graduation in one of these courses.
