The authority conducts the CDAC C-CAT admission process through three rounds of seat allotment.
During the CDAC C-CAT 2026 counselling sessions, candidates will have to choose the courses and centres.
The CDAC C-CAT 2026 seat allotment will be done based on the choice filling.
The following steps are involved in the counselling and seat allotment of CDAC C-CAT 2026.
Step 1: Online Course and Centres selection for 1st counselling session- Students have to log in to the C-DAC website using their application number and password and choose their preferences of courses and centres. Candidates may give as many course-centre preferences as desired. Applicants will be able to add or delete preferences and change their order of preferences before the last date. It must be noted that the last-saved course-centre preferences will be considered final and a candidate cannot opt for a lower preferred choice if he/she will be allocated a higher preference in any round of seat allocation.
Step 2: Declaration of First Round of Seat Allocation- Students will have to check the course/centre allocated to them through CDAC login. The candidates who are allotted seats will also receive an email notification from the authorities. Seat allocation CDAC will be done based on CDAC C-CAT 2026 ranks of the candidates and preferences set by them. Candidates allotted seats also have to pay the first instalment fee of Rs. 10,000 + GST in online mode to confirm their allotted seats. Candidates who are allotted seats in the first round and did not pay the amount will not be considered for the second round of CDAC C-CAT seat allotment.
Step 3: Declaration of Second Round of Seat Allocation- Candidates who have already filled their choices of centres/courses but were not offered seats in the first round of seat allocation and the candidates who had been already allocated seats in the first round of allocation, but did not get their top preferences, will be considered for the second round of CDAC C-CAT 2026 seat allotment. Students allotted seats in this round have to pay the first instalment in online mode. Those who have already paid the fee in the first round will not be required to pay again.
Step 4: Online Course and Centres selection for 2nd counselling session - The second counselling of CDAC C-CAT 2026 will be done online only for the vacant seats available at C-DAC’s training centres. Candidates have to log in to the official website to check their centre/course eligibility for second counselling based on the C-CAT cut-off rank of the centre/course. Only the courses/centres that will be rank-wise eligible for the candidate will be displayed in his/her list.
