National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET)
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) conducted a national level entrance examination for admission to Masters in Computer Applications, i.e. MCA, which is known as NIMCET. There are 10 NITs across India where admissions are offered through NIMCET.
NIMCET Eligibility: Indian nationals graduates in BSc/ BCA/ BIT/ B Voc (in Computer Science or Computer Applications with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects) / BE/ B. Tech from a recognized university with a minimum 60% aggregate score or 6.5 CGPA (or 55% marks and 6.0 CGPA for SC/ ST/ PwD students).
Applications: The authorities have closed NIMCET application form submission window in online mode only in the month of April 16, 2023. NIMCET application form was issued on March 1, 2023.
Exam Pattern: According to the exam pattern of NIMCET, it is conducted for a duration of 2 hours in offline mode. There are 120 multiple choice questions carrying 4 marks each. The question paper is distributed into 4 sections of Mathematics, analytical ability & logical reasoning, general english and computer awareness.
Selection Process: Candidates will be allotted ranks based on their performance in the NIMCET offline exam. Thereafter, candidates will be required to lock their choice of NITs in the order of preference. This will be followed by NIMCET counselling that involves document verification and payment of admission fee.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra conducted entrance test for Masters in Computer Applications (MAH MCA CET). Admissions to MCA courses are offered to all Government/ Government Aided Institutes, University Departments, University Managed Institutes and Un-Aided MCA Institutes.
MAH MCA CET Eligibility: Indian nationals who have completed a minimum 3 year graduation from a recognized university with Mathematics as one of the subjects (or at 10+2 level). The candidate should have scored at least 50% (or 45% for candidates of OBC or PwD categories belonging to Maharashtra state only) in graduation.
Applications: The authorities have released the MAH MCA CET application form on February 27, 2023.
Exam Pattern: MAH MCA CET is conducted in English medium at various exam centres for 90 minutes as an online entrance examination. The question paper is divided into four sections of Mathematics & Statistics, Logical/ Abstract Reasoning, English comprehension & verbal ability and Computer Concepts. There are 100 multiple choice questions wherein, each correct response adds 2 marks, while 0.5 mark is deducted for each incorrect response.
Selection Process: The authorities released the MAH MCA CET result in the form of scorecard which is followed by release of cutoffs in several rounds. Candidates will be called for counselling as per cutoff marks for verification of documents and admission will take place accordingly.

Admissions to Birla Institute of Technology are conducted for Masters in Computer Applications through an entrance examination. Approximately 285 seats are offered at BIT campus of Jaipur, Lalpur, Mesra and Noida. MCA course at BIT is for a duration of 2 years only.
BIT MCA Eligibility: A candidate who has passed class 12 or equivalent examination with Mathematics / Computer Science / Information Practices as one of the subjects. The candidate must have completed BCA/ BSc in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics or BSc with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects. The qualifying degree must be passed with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD). Candidates appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree are also eligible for BIT MCA entrance.
Applications: Applications for BIT MCA 2023 entrance have been released by the authorities in an online mode.
Exam Pattern: The entrance exam question paper is divided into 4 sections with 60 questions on Mathematics and 20 questions each for Analytical ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness and English. The exam will be conducted for 2 hours in online mode and there is negative marking as well with +4 for correct and -1 for each wrong response.
Selection Process: The authorities have released a provisional list of selected candidates based on their performance in the entrance exam. Such candidates will be called for document verification and will be admitted in the MCA course according to their eligibility.

Jawaharlal Nehru University is a Central University that offers a variety of courses including Masters in Computer Applications through entrance test termed as JNUEE. The entrance exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency once a year for admission to around 58 JNU MCA seats.
JNU MCA Eligibility: A candidate with bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 55% aggregate score and adequate competence in Mathematics are eligible for JNU MCA entrance test.

Exam Pattern: The JNU MCA entrance examination is conducted in online mode for 3 hours. Exam Pattern: The DU MCA exam pattern reflects that the entrance is conducted in online mode for 2 hours. Candidates are asked 50 multiple choice questions that are divided into 4 sections, i.e. English, Mathematics, Computer Science and Logical Ability. They will be awarded 4 marks for each correct response and a wrong answer will result in deduction of 1 mark.
Selection Process: The result is released by NTA in the form of a merit list and this is followed by release of DU MCA cutoff lists according to which, candidates are called up for counselling at a specified venue of Delhi University. Selected candidates are then admitted to the DU MCA course.

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducts entrance exam for Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) in the name of West Bengal Joint Examination for Masters in Computer Applications (WB JECA).
WB JECA Eligibility: Candidates who have completed their bachelors degree from a university recognized by UGC with the minimum requisite marks depending upon the stream are eligible for WB JECA, provided that they have studied Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.
Application: WBJEEB has released the WB JECA application form on January 27, 2023.
Exam Pattern: WB JECA is conducted in offline mode for 3 hour duration (2 hour for Mathematics and 1 hour for Aptitude). 100 multiple choice questions are asked in the Mathematics section while there are 50 questions for aptitude. According to the marking scheme of WB JECA exam pattern, 1 mark is awarded for a correct response and 0.25 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.
Selection Process: The result of WB JECA is released in the form of rank cards for qualified candidates and such candidates will have to attend counselling process conducted by WBJEEB. Verification of documents will take place followed by the admission process.

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Chhattisgarh conducts entrance examination for Masters in Computer Applications, i.e. CG Pre MCA exam. Admission to almost 200 seats are offered through this entrance examination in the state of Chhattisgarh.
CG Pre MCA Eligibility: Candidates who are graduates from recognized university with a minimum score of 50% for unreserved and 45% for unreserved categories having Mathematics as one of the subjects during graduation or 10+2 level are eligible for CG Pre MCA. Another eligibility condition is the upper age limit which is 32 years and a relaxation of 3 years is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ female/ PwD categories.
Application: The CG Pre MCA application form submission window was closed on June 18, 2023 and application form was released on May 29, 2023.
Exam Pattern: According to the CG Pre MCA exam pattern, the entrance exam is conducted in offline mode for a duration of 3 hours. 200 multiple choice questions are asked in the entrance wherein 1 mark is awarded for a correct response, however there is no negative marking.
Selection Process: The authorities release CG Pre MCA result and ranks are allotted according to candidate performance. This will be followed by the release of cutoff lists according to which, counselling will take place.
