The eligibility criteria for appearing for NIMCET is :
Educational qualification: B.Sc / B.Sc (hons) / BCA/ BIT of minimum 3 years full time from a recognized university with mathematics / statistics as one of the subjects.
OR
B.E / B.Tech from a recognized university
Nationality: Indian
Minimum marks: 60% or 6.5 CGPA for General and OBC candidates
55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC and ST candidates.

According to the category and rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs or government colleges as per previous year's cut-offs but yes you can get some private colleges on such rank :-

Minimum educational qualification for sitting in NIMCET exam is-
B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects (candidates from open universities are also eligible)
B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University.
So, until you have studied mathematics as one of the subject in your graduation you cannot appear in this exam.

Eligibility of NIMCET is either you are doing BCA or you are pursuing any course in which there is maths i.e graduating from maths, BSC~IT.
So you are fit for preparation of exam.
So its upto you either you prepare for MCA exams or MSC~IT ,MBA and various government exams.

Matric and determinants would be perfect for that.
But
First make a list on the basis which topic you find difficult. As they will be consuming more time and much more practice.
Topics like integration , permutations , probability. These are time taking topics. You have work parallel with the subject you find easy. Geometry is easy if you get command on concepts .
Go through previous year questions paper. You will find pattern. How many questions comes from which topic. According do the smart work.

So amongest All other MCA entrance exam like MAH-CET, BHU, JNU, BIT, VIT ,KIITEE, PUNE UNIVERSITY, TANCET, CUSAT, NIMCET etc…
NIMCET is best entrance exam.
As it will land you in top NITs in India like NIT Trichy, NITK, Warangal.
