IGNOU has a web of 21 schools, 67 regional centres, 2667 study centres, and 29 overseas centres in 15 countries. The university offers 226 degree, diploma and certificate programmes.
Master in Computer Application (MCA) is a postgraduate, degree course in computer science. It usually lasts for 3 years (6 semesters). MCA programme ensures theoretical learning as well as practical exposure to the students.

MCA aspirants can check the official website of IGNOU for regular updates. They must ensure that they apply for the January session before the closing date of the IGNOU MCA application form i.e., December 30, 2018.
The steps to apply for MCA admission in IGNOU are as follows:
Click here or visit the admission portal of IGNOU.
Click on the ‘Register Yourself’ button to open the ‘Student Registration Form’.
Type in your basic details like name, father’s name, gender, email, mobile number, etc. You will also be required to choose a username and password.
Fill in the security code and click on ‘Submit’.
The ‘Reset’ button can be used to make changes if required.
The username and password will be intimated to the candidate via email and SMS.
Filling the online application form
Candidates will have to login by entering their username, password and security code.
The first section of the application form is on ‘Programme Details’ wherein candidates will be required to fill in their choice of programme, study centre, medium of study, etc.
Click ‘Save’ and check for any mistakes. Once satisfied, click ‘Next’.
The second section of the IGNOU application form is on ‘Personal Details’. Candidates need to enter their name, DOB, nationality, gender, category, etc.
Click ‘Save’ and ‘Next’.
The third section comprises of ‘Qualification Details’ where candidates will have to type in their relevant qualification, main subjects, year of passing, division, etc.
Click on ‘Save’ and ‘Next’.
The fourth section on ‘Course Details’ requires candidates to select the elective/ optional/ Foundation courses according to the programme.
After clicking ‘Save’ and ‘Next’, candidates will reach the fifth section ‘Correspondence Details’. Here candidates will be required to type in their correspondence address, phone number, fax number, email address, etc.
Clicking ‘Save’ and ‘Next’ will lead the MCA applicant to the sixth and final section of the IGNOU application form. This section is for ‘Documents Upload’
Candidates will have to select each document type and upload accordingly. It must be ensured that the file format of all the scanned documents should be JPG/ JPEG and the file size must not exceed 100 KB.
Click on the declaration box and hit ‘Next’.
The next window will show the details filled by the applicant in the previous steps. If satisfied, click ‘Next’. In case of any mistakes, candidates should click on ‘Edit’ and make suitable rectifications.
Tick against the declaration and click on ‘Next’.
Payment of Fees
Under ‘Fee Details’, applicants will have to select the mode of payment from credit card/ debit card/ net banking.
Make necessary entries for making payment.
Once the payment is successful, the ‘Payment Confirmation’ page will be displayed.
Print the receipt for future reference.
Lastly, candidates are advised to save and print the completed IGNOU MCA application form for future use.
IGNOU MCA Admission Fees: The admission fees of MCA in IGNOU is Rs. 9000 per semester (Rs 54000 overall). Non-math students will have to pay an additional amount of Rs. 1200 for BCS-012 course.
