Hello there,

No, generally you cannot do a 1-year diploma and then directly write TS ECET to get admission into the 2nd year of B.Tech.

Here's why, according to the standard eligibility criteria for TS ECET:

  • Required Qualification: To be eligible for TS ECET (and lateral entry into B.Tech 2nd year), you must have completed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering and Technology from the State Board of Technical Education of Telangana or Andhra Pradesh, or any other equivalent diploma recognized by the Government.

  • Minimum Marks: You also need to have secured at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories) in your Diploma.

A 1-year diploma typically does not fulfill the requirement of a full 3-year diploma course. The lateral entry scheme is designed for students who have completed the full foundational engineering knowledge provided by a standard 3-year diploma.

Therefore, to be eligible for TS ECET, you would need to complete a full 3-year diploma program first.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Hello there,

Yes, you are eligible to take the MAH MCA CET in 2027 even though you had an ATKT in your Sem 1 B.Sc IT exams, as long as you have cleared it.

The key eligibility points for MAH MCA CET are:

  • Final Year Eligibility: Candidates appearing for their final year of graduation are eligible to appear for the CET. Since you'll be in your final year (TYBSc IT) in 2026-2027, you qualify.
  • Bachelor's Degree with Marks: You need to have a Bachelor's degree (like B.Sc IT) from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories). As long as your overall final degree percentage meets this, your past ATKT, now cleared, won't hinder your eligibility

  • Mathematics Requirement: You must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 (Class 12th) level or at the graduation level. As a B.Sc IT student, you would typically meet this.

In short: Clear all your ATKTs before your degree is complete, and ensure your final aggregate percentage meets the minimum criteria. You can then confidently appear for MAH MCA CET in 2027.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Hi Gayatri,

If you wrongly declared your caste as BCA instead of BCD while registering keep in mind that this must be corrected at the earliest possibility. During the counselling process, at the time of document verification if any inconsistencies appear between your declaration or documents and your official caste certificate, it can create issues or may even disqualify you from reservation benefits.  Here’s what you can do:

  1. Immediately reach the counselling authority through their helpline or email explaining the error.
  2. Request for the relevant correction window, but many counselling portals do allow you a chance to correct errors.
  3. If there is no correction option online, during document verification tell the verification officer about the error and show them your correct caste certificate (BCD) as they may be able to amend your record manually.

Ensure your documents match your application details to avoid complications.
