Even if you are studying in an institute it will be affiliated to an university. If your institute is recognised by bodies such as UGC, AICTE etc you will be eligible to apply for NIMCET. Candidates who have passed or appearing in the final year examination in the following course are eligible to apply
Candidates belonging to general or OBC category must score minimum 60% Marks or 6.5 CGPA on 10 point scale. Candidates belonging to SC ST category must score minimum 50% marks or 5.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale.

Eligibility criteria for NIMCET is graduation in science /IT/CA/engineering with 60% mark. As ycmou is a recognized university definitely you could apply for MCA. This college also have affiliation from university grands commission .So you could apply for NIMCET.

Hope you are doing great as per the question asked by you, as per the official N.I.M.C.E.T website update one should have total of 60 percent at the end of the 6th semester result else you won't be eligible for admissions in N.I.Ts through N.I.M.C.E.T. As one should have 60 or more then 60 percent in the graduation degree.

Taking admission in BCA course which season 3 years full time course maybe taken in government private sector colleges. For admission with his chemistry mathematics at least 50% marks. No Falcon fuel candidate or supplementary candidate compartmental candidate will get chance to take admission in government colleges for BCA course. But a fail in one subject but in aggregate CGPA is high then you will take chance for admission in BCA course in private reported institutions and colleges with a higher admission fees.

You will be still eligible to appear for NIMCET exam even if have failed in your first semester exams, providing that you have cleared that backlog before you sit in the exams. So, after clearing all the backlogs of any semester exams, you will be eligible to sit for NIMCET exam.
