Candidates can register for IGNOU MCA 2024 admissions from the official website. The IGNOU MCA registration 2024 has been open in online mode. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for admission. Note that registration for IGNOU 2024 MCA admission opens twice a year for January and July admissions respectively. Interested candidates have to complete the process of registration before last date.

Visit the admission portal of IGNOU at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
Click on the ‘New registration’ button to open the ‘Student Registration Form’.
Type in your personal details like name, father’s name, gender, email, mobile number, etc. You will also be required to choose a username and password.
Fill in the security code and click on ‘Submit’.
The ‘Reset’ button can be used to make changes if required.
The username and password will be intimated to the candidate via email and SMS.
Candidates will have to login by entering their username, password that is available after the completion of initial registration. Here is the section wise steps to fill the application form.
Programme Details- Fill in their choice of programme, study centre, medium of study, etc.
Click on ‘Save’ and check for any mistakes. Once satisfied, click on ‘Next’.
Personal Details- Candidates need to enter their name, date of birth, nationality, gender, category, etc.
Click on ‘Save and Next’.
Qualification Details- Provide the type of relevant qualification, main subjects, year of passing, division, etc. Click on 'Save and Next'.
Course Details- Select the elective/ optional/ Foundation courses according to IGNOU MCA programme.
Correspondence Details- Candidates are required to type in their correspondence address, phone number, fax number, email address, etc.
Documents Upload- Candidates will have to select each document type and upload accordingly. It must be ensured that the file format of all scanned documents should be JPG/ JPEG and the file size must not exceed 100 KB.
Click on the declaration box and hit ‘Next’.
The next window will show the details filled in by applicants in the previous steps. If satisfied, click ‘Next’. In case of any mistakes, candidates should click on ‘Edit’ and make suitable rectifications. Tick against the declaration and click on ‘Next’.

Hello, Yes, IGNOU has a policy for "External Credit Transfer" (ECT), but it is extremely specific. You can transfer a maximum of 50% of the total program credits (e.g., up to 50-60 credits for a ~120 credit BCA program) from another recognized university like Andhra University, provided you have not completed the degree there.
However, this is not a simple lateral entry. The transfer is done on a course-by-course basis, not a year-by-year basis. You must first take admission as a new, 1st-year student in IGNOU's BCA program. After your admission is confirmed, you must apply for credit transfer by submitting your Andhra University marksheets, the detailed syllabus of every subject you passed, and a fee. The IGNOU faculty will then manually compare your old syllabus to their current one. They will only grant you an exemption for the specific IGNOU courses that are a very close match in content and credit weight. You will then have to study and pass all the remaining courses to get the IGNOU degree.

It is likely that the admission for BPP in not open for the upcoming session. While IGNOU is taking admission for many other programmes, the BPP is seems to be either paused or not currently accepting new admissions. You can check the official website of IGNOU to confirm it. It is not open for the session of July session, but you can keep an eye out for the January session as many programmes have two sessions.

If you are pursuing your master’s from IGNOU (January 2025 batch), you will become eligible to get into M.Phil. or Ph.D. programme only after completing your master’s degree successfully with the required minimum percentage which is (usually 55%).
However, you should know that as per the latest UGC regulations, M.Phil. programmes have been discontinued in most of the universities across India, and admissions are now being offered directly to the Ph.D. programmes based on NET/JRF scores or university entrance tests.

Masters from IGNOU January 2025, you probably will be done with it late 2026 or early 2027. Still, M.Phil won't be an option as per the new education policy (NEP 2020), it has been abolished.
A great majority of universities including IGNOU have already ceased M.Phil courses. In fact, after your masters completion with minimum 55% marks (or 50% for a reserved category), you are eligible to submit your application for doctoral research directly, not M.Phil. Moreover, only qualifying in the entrance test and interview will be your next step.
