NIMCET, is the national level entrance exam conducted every year by one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) for the admission to MCA programme.

Go through the previous year papers, It will help you to know the level of the questions and do practice as much you can.
Make Schedule for preparing - You should divide the time as per the subjects of the exam as this exam contains 5 sections including Analytical ability & logical reasoning, Mathematics, Computer awareness, General English and Quantitative ability,also keep some time for revision. Make short notes while learning that can help you while revision. Improve verbal and non verbal reasoning and analytical -There are several books available in the market that one can refer to improve his reasoning skills. Also, to clear the concepts it is good if you have a guide who can teach you to think out of the box while going for reasoning questions. Improve English language skills - It is quite common that candidates score low in this section as English is not he first choice of language for many as one must work on his grammatical skills and there are many books available in the market for this purpose.

There would not be any problem even if your graduation results come after the date of NIMCET examination. The eligibility criteria of the NIMCET examination clearly states that the applicants who are in the last year of their bachelor’s programme are also eligible to apply for the exam and there won't be any problems in their application. However, the candidates must provide their proof or certificate of passing latest by September 15, 2020. So, even if your graduation results come by the end of July you can apply for NIMCET and give the certificate or proof of passing your graduation degree by September which would be available to you by then. Also, the candidates who have completed or are completing their B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/BCA/ BIT course from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided the programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

nimcet is the entrance test of nits to get admission in 3 years/ 6 semester mca courses in nits.
its not a lateral entry admission test, after clearing nimcet you need to study from the first years of mca course. mca course through nimcet exam is offered by 11 different nits in india.

Utkarsh, to be eligible for NIMCET, you should have completed your Graduation in B.Sc, B.Sc(Hons), BCA, BIT, B.E, B.Tech to be eligible for NIMCET. You should have completed Mathematics or Statistics as one of your subjects in your Graduation. NIMCET is an entrance exam for Post Graduation programmes and not after 12th. So if you want to appear for NIMCET in the future, you should study your Graduation in one of these courses.
