NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, commonly known as NIMCET, is the national level entrance exam conducted every year by one of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Admissions take place on merit basis to Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme across the NITs located in Agartala, Allahabad, Kurukshetra, Calicut, Raipur, Warangal, Surathkal, Durgapur, Trichy, Jamshedpur, Bhopal and Kurukshetra. NIMCET 2020 is conducted by one of the National Institutes of Technology. The application form of NIMCET 2020 will be released in online mode which the candidates have to fill in order to appear in the entrance exam. NIMCET admit card will also be released in online mode for download by candidates. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and the result of the same will be declared on the official website of NIMCET 2020.
It is to be noted that NIMCET scores are used by many other universities and institutes for admissions to the MCA programmes offered by them.

NIMCET eligibility criteria 2020 issued by the authorities specifies the academic qualifications, age limits, nationality and other parameters used to determine whether a student is eligible to appear for the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of NIMCET 2020 has been mentioned below:

Gen/OBC Candidates - 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scales
SC/ST Candidates - 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale
Not later than 2020. Final year students can apply and must furnish proof of passing by the date specified
Note: Final year students have to furnish a certificate issued by Head of the institution where the candidate has studied.

NIMCET application form 2020 will be released on the official website in online mode. Candidates will have to register and fill the details carefully before the last date to appear in the exam. The steps to fill the application form of NIMCET 2020 are:
Step 1 - Registration: Candidates must enter their e-mail ID along with the 10-digit mobile number. A mail will be sent to the candidates for validation and creation of a unique password. Candidates must click on the given link to do so.
Step 2 - Fill the Application Form: Candidates must next fill the personal and academic details. Marks/ grades must be entered in the given space. Mandatory fields should not be ignored. A total of three exam centres must be chosen in the order of preference.
Step 3 – Uploading documents: Relevant documents such as proof of identity, proof of date of birth (SSLC/ 10th Marks Card), all other marks cards etc. and the Category/ Caste/ PwD certificate(s) as applicable have to be uploaded. They should be duly self-attested and scanned in a file with a maximum size 500 KB. In addition, a recent colour photograph (of size between 50 KB and 150 KB), signature (in royal blue/ black colour only of size between 50 KB and 150 KB) must also be uploaded.
Step 4 – Payment of the application fees: Fee payment is online only through net banking or Credit/Debit Cards.
Step 5 - Submission of the application and download of printout: After the payment of the application fee, candidates must submit the application form of NIMCET. Thereafter they are advised to download and save the soft copy of the submitted application for their reference.

NIMCET 2020 admit card will be released in online mode a few days after the applications get over. The admit card of NIMCET 2020 is an important identity document and thus, it must be carried to the exam hall. Else, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the entrance test.

Candidates who appear for the exam will get to check their performance through NIMCET answer key 2020. The interim answer key will be released in online mode which will be subject to challenge for a limited period. A correct response will add 4 to the score, while an incorrect one will deduct 1. The final answer key will be released at the time of NIMCET 2020 result declaration.
The conducting body will declare the NIMCET result 2020 on the stipulated date in online mode. Candidates appearing for the exam will be able to know their rank as well as their qualifying status. One needs to login to access the result and download the rank card.

The total weightage of marks for NIMCET is 1000. The scores obtained by the candidates in each section will be multiplied by a factor as follows to arrive at the maximum score that is to be considered. The sum of the weighted scores will be the total score obtained by the candidate. Ranks will be allotted to candidates according to the total weighted marks obtained by them. The higher the total weighted marks, the higher the rank obtained will be.

In case two or mode candidates score the same marks, and resultantly the same ranks. In such case, the following criteria has to be followed:
Candidates obtaining zero or negative score in the Math section or overall in all sections, will be considered disqualified.
Mode of Counselling:
NIMCET Counselling 2020 will be conducted after declaration of results. The counselling will take place as per the schedule officially declared. A total of three rounds of counselling will be held. The steps to be followed in counselling are
Choice Filling: Candidates must login using email and password, fill choices of course and institute as per order of preference, lock the choices and take a printout of the same.
Allotment: The authorities will allot the seats on the basis of the ranks obtained by the candidates, choice of course and institute opted for.
Reporting and Payment of Admission fee (part payment): Candidates who are allotted a seat will have to download the allotment letter and pay the part admission fee of Rs 10,000 online. They must report to the nearest reporting centre along with the payment receipt and the documents in original for verification. Subsequent to verification, they can opt for the below given choices.
Option-1 : Candidates may choose to keep the seat allotted to them. In such a case all their higher preference choices will be disregarded.
Option-2 : Candidates who wish to be considered for all of their higher preference choices in the next round.
