Sir i got 70.05 percentile in JEE mains can I get NIT seat As I belongs to ST category

anurag khanna 26th Feb, 2020

Hi Aspirant,

Hope you are going well with your preparations!! Getting seat into any NIT fully depends on the basis of our secured rank. According to the given percentile your rank will be around 2,60,268.

Rank is calculated using given formula

(100 - your percentile)*869010/100

There are no chances for any NIT based on above calculated rank but in your case as you belongs to reservation category you may get any seat in lower NITs.

I would suggest you to be prepare for second attempt of JEE-Main that is going to be held in April.

For prediction of college based on your percentile you can use JEE-Main college predictor .

Hope this helps you.

All The Best!!

I scored 74.2 percent marks in U.P board intermediate examination. I will apply for jee advanced examination or not..

Hrisheekesh Singh 26th Feb, 2020

Hi Ritesh,

A candidate is required to fulfill every one of the below mentioned criteria to be eligible for JEE Advanced Examination:-

  • You are required to clear JEE Main cutoffs.
  • You are required to have at-least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 or any other equivalent examination if you are a GEN/OBC category candidate.
  • You are required to have at-least 60% aggregate marks in Class 12 or any other equivalent examination if you are a SC/ST/PwD category candidate.

From the mentioned criteria if you are from GEN/OBC category, you are not eligible to apply for JEE Main BUT if you are from SC/ST/PwD you are eligible to apply for JEE Main.

I got 73.2% in CBSE Exam 2019 As 75% is the minimum requirement in Boards for many Engineering colleges, I decided to take a Drop & give CBSE Improvement 2020 So now while filling JEE Mains 2020 Form, do I have to enter CBSE 2019 Marks (do not satisfy 75% Criteria) or enter Appearing in 2020 ??

anurag khanna 26th Feb, 2020

Hello Saish,

Hope you doing well!! For qualifying JEE-Main exam you must have scored 75% or above in class 12th board exam or any equivalent exam from any recognized board university if you are from Gen/OBC category.

But if you are from SC\ST category then you have to score 60% or above in class 12th examination.

If you are appearing for improvement exam then you have to mention the best score among both of them.

While filling application form of JEE-Main you need to enter the passing status of first year when you have appeared for it. For e.g. if you passed class 12th in 2019 but not having sufficient percentage and going to appear for improvement in 2020, so you have to mention in application form that you passed in 2019.

For detailed eligibility criteria for JEE-Main exam you can visit the following link :

Hope this cleared your doubt.

Good Luck!!

there are maximum two chances for jee advance.i didnt qualify my jee mains exam in 2018.but in 2019 I appeared in jee advance but couldnt qualify jee in 2020 am I eligible to give jee advance.since for jee mains it is my third attempt.but 2nd for advance

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 26th Feb, 2020

see suppose you passed your 12th exam on 2016, then you are eligible to give jee main exam on 2018 and 2019.

from your question I make out that you have passed 12th on 2018, so thats why you are not eligible to give jee advanced on 2020. because your all attempts has cleared.

now see its not like that you can not be a good engineer if you dont get iits, see there is many students who have passed engineering from a tier 3 college, but because of their hard works they are now placed in tier 1 mnc companies.

so if you are interested in engineering give your best shot this time and join some good reputed institute by jee main score. you should know that jee main can be attempts by only 3 times.

sir i got 97.75 percentile in jee main paper 2. can i get nit admission in barch

Saisrinandan Ch 25th Feb, 2020

Cutoffs for various courses in NITs are affected by factors like difficulty level of JEE Main and category of student.

According to your percentile, your rank will fall between 2500-2600.

So yes, there are pretty good chances for you to get admission into NITs.

You can check the following link for cutoff of NITs in B.Arch/B.Planning.

Hope this helps.
