The NIMCET 2014 participating colleges/institutes list presents names of NIT along with their location and seat break up in terms of reserved and unreserved categories of each participating National Institutes of Technology (NITs). As many as 11 NITs located in different states are participating in the national level NIMCET 2014 entrance examination.  NIT Kurukshetra also offers self financing MCA course for 30 seats, in which candidates have to pay extra fee than other participating NITs.

Candidates assigned with  NIMCET 2014 rank/marks and depending on NIT or NIMCET 2014 participating colleges preferred by them have the option to seek admission at any one the below listed NITs.

It must be noted that the all India Quota seats under the NIMCET 2014 participating colleges has no separate state-wise quota. The following is the table representing the total number of seats in each NIT, mentioning the entire quota details under each category.

Highlights-

  1. NIT Allahabad has the maximum intake capacity- 93.
  2. After NIT Allahabad, as many as seven NITs have second highest intake capacity- 92. These NITs include NIT Bhopal, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Raipur, NIT  Surathkal , NIT Tiruchirappalli.
  3. NIT Agartala has the minimum intake capacity-40.

OP: Open seats (unreserved)

OP-PwD: Open seats for person with disability

OBC: Other backward class seats

OBC-PwD: Other backward class seats for person with disability

SC: Schedule Caste seats

ST: Schedule Tribe seats

ST-PwD: Schedule Tribe seats for person with disability

National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are institutes are centrally funded institutes. Result of NIMCET 2014 will be tentatively declared on June 11, 2014. Candidates assigned a rank are required to provide their choices of participating institutes in their order of preference between June 16, 2014 and June 23, 2014 before 5:00 pm through NIMCET 2014 online counseling process.

To be eligible for NIMCET-


  • Candidate needs to have passed B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects (candidates from open universities are also eligible)
  • Candidates with B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University are also eligible.
  • Final year candidates of aforementioned qualifications too can apply provided they are able to show proof of their qualifying examination by September of that year.


Minimum Marks:


  • General and OBC needs to attain 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
  • SC and ST needs to attain 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale

can we clear the NIMCET exam without coaching ?

Haii jayshree!!!To clear NIMCET isn't that difficult. FIrstly, one needs to know the exam pattern very clearly so that you get an idea about questions and..you can definitely prepare yourself at home. You just need the good catch up on maths so that you can easily crack the exam.Start with the basics and also  Start taking mock tests  provided online as soon as you finished  concept . Just maintain flow and concentration on your preparation then no need of any coaching centre. practice more to gain more.Make a note of important points nad formulas it will helps you .All the best!!

Actually i am from ahmedabad i am studying in bca and want to appear for nimcet but there are no coaching institutes for nimcet in ahmedabad so how can i appear for nimcet????????????

hello aspirant,

you can prepare the nimcet examination by self study . its not necessary to have coaching classes to get better result in entrance exam. you can check tcyonline website as there is many lectures available for nimcet exam.

also you can follow aspire study channels.

SORRY to say you are not eligible to apply in nimcet 2020. the basic eligibility criteria is   Candidates must have studied B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT/ B.E/ B.Tech of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects.

They must have minimum 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scales (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST).
