Karnataka PGCET MCA 2014 Eligibility - Written examination of Post Graduate Common Entrance Test MCA 2014 is scheduled to be conducted on June 30, 2014 by Rani Chanamma University on behalf of Association of Private Management Institutions of North Karnataka (APMINK). Candidates desirous of appearing for the entrance examination are advised to read the below point regarding Karnataka PGCET MCA 2014 Eligibility Criteria for the current academic session 2014.

The entrance examination is conducted to offer admission for three years full time Masters of Computer Application course to candidates depending on their performance in the written examination.  Admissions for lateral entry (second year of MCA) and part time MCA courses is offered through the karnataka PGCET MCA 2014 exam.

 

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka PGCET MCA 2014

  • Candidates have passed graduation examination with at least scoring 50% of marks and have pursued any of the following listed subjects-
  1. Mathematics
  2. Statistics
  3. Computer Science
  4. Computer Applications
  5. Computer Programming
  6. Business Mathematics
  7. Business Statistics
  • For candidates belonging from SC/ST/Cat-I categories, the minimum required percentage of marks is 45%.
  • Candidates enrolled in last year of graduation are also eligible to appear for the exam. Such candidates should have passed in all their previous (years/semesters) examinations.

Qualified candidates as per their merit will be offered admission for MCA course at Government Colleges, University Departments, University Post Graduate Centers and the Private Unaided Institutions located in Karnataka state.

 

NOTE:  Aggregate percentage of marks will be calculated as the sum of the marks scored by the candidate in all the subjects in the Bachelor Degree examination. The total marks will be divided by the sum of maximum marks of all these subjects of the course multiplied by 100.

i have a cgpa of 5.6 in engg (vtu). will i be eligible to take up pgcet through the general merit category?

hi,

see karnataka pgcet exam is for admission in mba, mca or m.e /m.tech courses. the eligibility criteria for all course is you need to have 50% marks in your graduation course in relevant discipline. now you need to convert you cgpa to percentage using the conversion rules of your university and apply for  pgcet.

Ramu, yes you can appear for Karnataka PGCET though you are from AP. But yes, you will not be considered for Karnataka reservation policy reserved for its Candidates. While 90% of the seats are reserved for Karnataka domicile Candidates, 10% of the seats are reserved for Non Karnataka domicile Candidates. Now, the official notification for 2020 will be released tentatively during the month of May 2020. Karnataka PGCET registration will be started on May 19, 2020. Exam will be on 20-21 July 2020.
Best books for PGCET is as follows-
RS Agarwal, Arihant Publication for reasoning, Word power made easy for verbal ability, Arun Sharma and sarvesh Kumar for quantitative aptitude. Study newspapers like Times of India, Economic times
thoroughly for current affairs.
